Mentone to Ontario is roughly 30 to 40 minutes off-peak on the I-10, and there is no faster way in from anywhere east. On arrival the priorities are the same as on any freeway scene: protect the drains, contain the product, tap or transfer fuel out of compromised tanks, recover what is on the ground, and clear the cargo and debris so the lanes reopen. For warehouse and airport-area operators the work continues inside the yard, with steam cleaning, soil removal where needed, and manifested disposal of everything recovered.
